Route signs at nodal point 34, between Den Haag and Leiden - but I chose to go left, not right, towards Leiden, which is more direct.

No pedestrians on this cycle bridge (you have to go a surprising way beyond the Waalsdorperweg junction before you can cross the canal and get back to it)

Cycle crossing at the Madurodam theme park, Den Haag - I was surprised that it was a free-for-all on a pretty busy road, rather than being light-controlled.

No-one seems to be doing much work in Rotterdam today - lots of lycra-clad road cyclists sprinting west to Hoek van Holland and beyond.

I'm not sure that is still the most obvious route to Rotterdam - there's a direct route east from the ferry terminal to nodal point 22.

Right turns into Devonshire Road permitted, as a result of the bridge change - the old sign was removed.

  • Icon 153831 The traffic light crossing here takes so long to change. They should be revised.
  • Icon 153817 Fieldside needs to be improved so it can serve as a cycle path rather than cyclists using the busy high street
  • Icon 153783 People do not cycle into the town centre because the road is so busy and they do not feel safe.
  • Icon 153782 This is a very dangerous road that has had a number of cycling fatalities in recent years - it is a commuter route and a cycle to school route - it has no cyclepath!
  • Icon 153781 Essentially the moment you cycle down past Peace & Loaf you enter a narrow roadway before it improves again. Obvious answer is to dispense with parking spaces outside Grate and instead make this a cycle path.
  • Icon 153780 Dedicated cycle Lane needed on a41, it is currently too dangerous to cycle on
  • Icon 153779 Path/cycle track is overgrown and urgently needs cut back. Where path joins old road needs proper transition laid out.
  • Icon 153776 Can the council install a table tennis table near the cafe as they are increasingly popular and promote health.
  • Icon 153775 Bridge should be one way for car traffic thus allowing space for walkers and cyclists.
  • Icon 153774 Narrow access and gate post loose on National Cycle Route 5
  • Icon 153773 Parts of this track are very rutted and in wet weather almost unnavigable, as part of a long distance Sustrans route it should be in better condition as it is a good traffic-free route from Frodsham to Helsby, Ellesmere Port and Elton.
  • Icon 153772 The track is deeply rutted and potholes needs to be graded to allow better access for cars to Hoverforce and also bikes to the Marshes
